ปริมาตรของรูปทรงสี่เหลี่ยมมุมฉาก (เช่น กล่อง, ตู้คอนเทนเนอร์, พื้นที่เทคอนกรีต) สามารถคำนวณได้โดยใช้สูตร:
ปริมาตร = กว้าง × ยาว × สูง
หน่วยที่ใช้ต้องเป็นหน่วยเดียวกัน ก่อนที่จะนำมาคูณกัน
ตัวอย่างการคำนวณ ปริมาตร/คิว ในบริบทต่างๆ:
การคำนวณลูกบาศก์เมตร (คิวเมตร):
หากหน่วยวัดเป็นเมตร ปริมาตรที่ได้ก็จะเป็นลูกบาศก์เมตร
ตัวอย่าง: สินค้า 1 กล่องที่ส่งจากจีนมาไทย ความกว้าง 0.95 เมตร ความสูง 1.5 เมตร ความยาว 0.85 เมตร
ปริมาตร/คิว = 0.95 เมตร × 1.5 เมตร × 0.85 เมตร = 1.21 ลูกบาศก์เมตร (หรือ 1.21 คิว)
